Barcia Wins in St. Louis, Windham Goes Back-to-Back in Seattle and Salt Lake City

The AMSOIL Supercross team capped off its 2010 season with a flurry of wins and podiums, including five straight podium finishes for team star Kevin Windham. The 14th round of the 2010 AMA Supercross season, including the eighth and final round of the Lites Eastern Regional Supercross Championship, was held at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Mo. Team AMSOIL Lites racer Justin Barcia dominated the field and earned his second win of the season, while teammate Brett Metcalfe took the third place podium. Barcia and Metcalfe finish the Lites Eastern Supercross season second and third respectively in the overall points standings. In the 450 class, Team AMSOIL star Kevin Windham earned his second straight second place podium finish.

Round 15 of the 2010 AMA Supercross season, including the seventh round of the Lites Western Regional Supercross Championship, was held at Qwest Field in Seattle, Wash. Coming off two straight second place podiums, Windham dominated the 450 class main event, grabbing the holeshot and winning the race by 20 seconds over his nearest challenger. Team AMSOIL Lites riders Blake Wharton and Trey Canard finished fourth and 11th respectively.

Windham continued his success at the 16th round of the 2010 AMA Supercross season, held at Rice - Eccles Field in Salt Lake City, Utah. Racing through sloppy conditions, K-Dub took hold of the lead and earned his second consecutive victory by almost eight seconds. Teammates Canard and Wharton finished second and 12th respectively. Canard and Wharton finish the Lites Western Regional Supercross season third and fifth respectively in the overall points standings.

“I kept my head down and put in 15 great laps,” said Windham after his win. “The first few laps of the race, Davi [Millsaps] and I had a good battle going. I was probably the only rider here today that was excited when the rain came because I enjoy these conditions.”

Windham took third at the final round of the 2010 AMA Supercross season at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. He finishes the season second overall.

AMSOIL Increase presence in ATV Market as Official Oil of AMA ATV MX Championship and GNCC

AMSOIL will increase its presence in the world of ATV racing this summer. In addition to signing an agreement to continue its role as the Official Oil of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship Series in 2010, the company has also signed a three-year agreement to become the Official Oil of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC). AMSOIL will also be the title sponsor of the Ironman GNCC, the largest and final event of the series in Crawfordsville, Ind. on the weekend of October 23-24.

“AMSOIL will be a welcome addition to our GNCC family,” said Dean Van Leeuwen, GNCC Sponsorship Coordinator. “The enthusiasm they bring to the event, along with their superior products, will be a great asset to GNCC racers and families.”

“AMSOIL has always had a grassroots racing effort, and our three-year commitment to the GNCC continues that tradition,” said Meyer. “Off road racing is the perfect match and proving ground for AMSOIL products, and AMSOIL is proud to be associated with a great organization like GNCC and an exceptional event like the Ironman.”

Shock Therapy Turns Heads at Monster Jam World Finals

The AMSOIL Shock Therapy monster truck and driver Jon Zimmer proved they belonged among the sport’s elite at the Monster Jam World Finals in Las Vegas. Qualifying fourth, Shock Therapy was automatically seeded into the second round, where it faced off against Stone Crusher. Zimmer and Shock Therapy took the win, and faced off next against Grave Digger. Although Grave Digger edged Shock Therapy out for the win, Shock Therapy gave the eventual champion its closest race of the night.

At the post-show awards banquet, Zimmer was presented with Monster Jam’s “Extreme Air of the Year” award for a spectacular mid-February jump that vaulted Shock Therapy as high as the second deck of Houston’s Reliant Stadium.

"It was great to get an award at the banquet," said Zimmer. "I'm very proud of our whole team and what we've done this year; our support has been great, and we hope this is just the beginning."

Barcia Takes First Career Pro Win

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mYE7WLefNbg/S6uMFxH48JI/AAAAAAAAAC8/0nQqRuW9bko/s320/article+1+copy.jpgThe 10th round of the 2010 AMA Supercross season, including the fourth round of the Lites Eastern Regional Supercross Championship, was held March 13 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario.  Team AMSOIL Lites racer Justin Barcia got off to a great start in the main event and never looked back, taking his first career pro victory.  Teammate Brett Metcalfe finished sixth.

“I was just on it tonight,” said Barcia.  “I got the holeshot in my heat race and that gave me the line I wanted for the main event and I was able to get the holeshot again.  I got way ahead in the race and I was pretty excited and I made a few mistakes, hit some bales and went off the track there for a second, but I stayed up front and managed to open my lead back up again after that.  I feel like I’ve learned a lot in the four races I’ve run.”

In the 450 class, Team AMSOIL star Kevin Windham finished fifth, marking the 100th top-five finish of his illustrious career.

The 11th round of the 2010 AMA Supercross season, including the fifth round of the Lites Eastern Regional Supercross Championship, was held March 20 at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, Texas.  Barcia followed up his win in Toronto with a strong third place podium, while Metcalfe finished 11th.  In the 450 class, Windham finished seventh.

AMSOIL Monster Trucks Thrill Fans in Jacksonville

The AMSOIL Shock Therapy and Excaliber monster trucks put on an unforgettable show for a record-set- ting crowd of 74,000 fans in Jacksonville. Competing in a field of 16 of the world’s greatest monster trucks, Excaliber driver Carl VanHorn took the racing victory by pushing the truck as hard as it would go, with the final jump providing the edge he needed for victory. Twisting sideways in the air, VanHorn skillfully spun the truck from the tire sidewalls onto the nose, then back to the ground for a spectacular save.

In the freestyle event, Shock Therapy driver Jon Zimmer hit every obstacle at full speed. Although he was well on his way to the victory, Zimmer attempted a cross-thread on the biggest obstacle in the track. Coming up just short, the truck twisted into a cartwheel and ended up on its roof. VanHorn also had a spec- tacular run, thrilling fans with big air, donuts and cross- threads. Both Shock Therapy and Excaliber finished in the top half of the freestyle field.
